CMU started classes in Elementary Education leading to teacher certification on the Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) campus in 1979. By 1995, our administrative offices and classrooms had moved to NMC’s new University Center. At Traverse City, we are proud of our exceptional service to our students and our course offerings leading to certifications, bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees.

Students must be admitted to a cohort program in order to take classes within a cohort program. Students pursue classes and move, as a group, from one class to the next, following a planned sequence of courses. Cohort programs will have specific term start dates and admission application dates.
