CMU’s DHA program is cutting
edge, provided by the best subject matter experts in healthcare management
academics. It is offered in a rigorous format that delivers a well respected
doctorate. While I’ve been a healthcare administrator for 35 years, this program
gave me value-added experiences and education. The collaborative approach of
cohort groups was unique to me. Not only did I get a terrific degree, I also got
to know personally my peers as well as faculty in this program to a much greater
extent than my graduate school experience. That networking (student and faculty)
continues after graduation.
M. Raymond Alvarez, DHA, MPA, FACHE (2009)
Group Vice President
Specialty Hospital of Washington DC
Note: The DHA Program utilizes a continuous admission process whereby
applicants may apply at any time for competitive admission to the next cohort of
the program. Early applicants who are especially well qualified may be offered
an early admission decision.
The final deadline for applications from students wishing to be considered for
the Fall cohort of each year is April 1st of that year. Admission decisions for
students not offered early admission will be announced by approximately mid-May.
CMU has established a set of minimum qualifications for admission into the DHA
program. Meeting these qualifications does not guarantee admission into the
program. but rather is used to generate a pool of applicants who meet all
requirements. The best-qualified applicants will be selected from this pool and
offered admission to the DHA cohort.
Applications can be completed and sent to CMU at any time during the year. CMU
retains the right to determine which applicants are best qualified for admission
into the DHA program.
The minimum requirements and standards for application admission to the program
include the following criteria:
The application materials required are:
Once all application materials have been received, a date will be established for a telephone interview.
Students who do not meet the application deadline of April 1st will not be considered for
that year’s cohort admission.
Many of these costs are estimated based upon the best information available and
actual costs may vary slightly. All fees are set by the University Board of
Trustees and are subject to change without notice.
This 18 credit-hour program is perfect for healthcare professionals who deal with administrative and compliance issues. The courses include a solid foundation in current healthcare management plus the very latest information on the Patient Protection and Affordable Healthcare Act.
