Bachelor of Science, Major in Administration

The BS degree with a Major in Administration is a perfect choice for anyone interested in an administrative career in the private sector (for-profit businesses and corporations) or the public sector (government careers and non-profit organizations).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degrees at CMU are a minimum of 124 credit hours and are usually made up of four types of courses:

  1. General Education courses – two types taken by all students
  2. Core courses – required basic courses in your major area of study
    • ACC 203 Essentials of Accounting for Business
    • ACC 204 Accounting for Not-For-Profit Entities
    • CPS 501 Survey of Computer Science
    • ECO 201 Principles of Macroeconomics
    • ECO 202 Principles of Microeconomics
    • FIN 303 Financial Administration
    • MGT 312 Introduction to Management
    • MGT 495 Global Management Strategy
    • MKT 300 Introduction to Marketing
    • STA 282 Introduction to Statistics
  3. Concentration Courses – courses in your chosen area of concentration (see below)
  4. Planned Electives – to allow you to customize your degree to your areas of interest

Building Code Administration

Prepare for a career in public administration with a focus on building permits, modern house planning, the inspection process and building code enforcement.
