Bachelor of Applied Arts, Major in Administration
Like the BS degree, the BAA is designed for students in administrative careers in
the public, non-profit, and private sectors who are looking for mid- to
upper-level supervisory positions.
This is an excellent choice for students with licensure, other credentials, or a
body of college-level course work. Appropriate course work and experience can be
transferred into the program to meet requirements for one of several minors,
including:
- Community Justice
- Economics
- Industrial Technology
- Nursing
- Nutrition
- Psychology
- Public Administration
Requirements
Bachelor’s degrees at CMU are a minimum of 124 credit hours and are usually made
up of four types of courses:

General Education courses – two types taken by all students
- Core courses – required basic courses in your major area of study
- ACC 203 Essentials of Accounting for Business
- ACC 204 Accounting for Not-For-Profit Entities
- CPS 501 Survey of Computer Science
- ECO 201 Principles of Macroeconomics
- ECO 202 Principles of Microeconomics
- FIN 303 Financial Administration

- MGT 495 Global Management Strategy
- MKT 300 Introduction to Marketing
- STA 282 Introduction to Statistics
- Concentration Courses – courses in your chosen area of concentration (see below)
- Planned Electives – to allow you to customize your degree to your areas of
interest

Building Code Administration
Prepare for a career in public administration with a focus on building permits,
modern house planning, the inspection process and building code enforcement.
